There’s a small but significant crisis in the world of Apple blogs and independent iOS developers. The blog MacStories, after loudly announcing its departure from what was then Twitter in 2022, returned to Elon Musk’s platform this August.
Mastodon 5.0: Laying the foundation

The Mastodon team published some mock-ups of the upcoming version 5.0. The ideas all seem good to me, especially the greater distinction of private mentions (renamed “messages”) and the emphasis given to the lists (renamed “custom feeds”).
I had the opportunity to test Indigo before its launch — on the 12th — a social media app that unifies the timelines of Bluesky and Mastodon.
The duo of developers, Aaron Vegh and Ben McCarthy, have experience in the field. They’re also behind Croissant, an older app that lets you post simultaneously to Bluesky, Mastodon, and Threads. Seen together, it’s as if Indigo were an evolution of Croissant — you can also post to Bluesky and Mastodon at the same time from Indigo.
