Send your desk

Manual do Usuário features desks/home offices from readers, complete with descriptions of items, workflows, and pictures. It’s a great way to share good products and productivity ideas.

To contribute to this section, please send an email to contato@manualdousuario.net with the following items:

• High-quality photos of your desk. At least one in landscape (horizontal), with a minimum resolution of 1920×1280. If possible, send two or more photos from different angles, focusing on details or special items. Get creative! Guidelines:
  • Try to take the photo during the day, using natural light, and if you have a dedicated camera, prefer it over your phone.
  • If you’d like, you can host the photos on a cloud service (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud etc.) and just send the links.
  • It’s not mandatory, but if you want to appear yourself in one of the photos, that would be great!
• Brief introduction. Share what you do for a living and, if possible, the company you work for and where you live. Also, if applicable, tell us what else you do in this space besides working. Context is helpful for readers to understand your choices in setting up your office.
• Items description. What’s on your desk, why those items are there, what stands out among them…? Explain everything we can to us. Write this in a prose style and be detailed — it’s better to provide too much information than too little, as your text will be edited before publication.
• What should I call you? By default, the name associated with your email will be used in the post title. If you prefer something else, please let me know in your message. If you have a website or social media account you’d like linked, please include that as well.

Two notes:

• Initially, desks will be published in the order they are received, but the order may be changed at my discretion.
• Your photos and text will be published on the site and can appear in the newsletter as well.
