Here, I dive into topics that pique my interest in this space, like non-commercial technologies, digital privacy, fun facts, and handy tips. I also try to give a voice to subjects that other specialized outlets tend to overlook.<\/p>\n

Manual do Usu\u00e1rio<\/strong> is a blog \u2014 meaning it\u2019s opinionated \u2014 crafted with journalistic rigor but without the pressure of real-time urgency or rigid formats. I follow the \u201cslow web\u201d philosophy.<\/p>\n

I launched it in 2013 after spending some time as a reporter for the Brazilian edition of Gizmodo. In 2023, I started translating some posts into English to reach a broader, global audience \u2014 initially on a separate blog. At the beginning of 2025, I decided to bring both languages under one roof at manualdousuario.net.<\/p>\n

Posts are originally written in Portuguese and then translated into English with the help of translation tools. Every translation is reviewed by me; no text is published until it\u2019s been given a human once-over.<\/p>\n

Who’s in charge?<\/h2>\n

It’s me, Rodrigo Ghedin! I’m a journalist living in Curitiba, in the Southern state of Paran\u00e1, Brazil. I’ve been in other newsrooms, always covering technology, business, and related areas.<\/p>\n

I founded Manual do Usu\u00e1rio<\/strong> in 2013 and have been editing it since then. By the end of 2018, this project became my primary \u2014 and almost my only \u2014 professional focus.<\/p>\n
